A talk by David Warden. In 1940 Bertrand Russell was condemned by an American court as ‘morally unfit to teach philosophy’. He was subsequently awarded the Order of Merit by George VI and the Nobel Prize for Literature.
David Warden is chair of Dorset Humanists and an Honorary Member of the British Humanist Association.

Britain is currently going through what’s been called the biggest change in religion and belief landscape since the Reformation, 500 years ago. But what's really going on? What are the facts? And what are the practical implications? Can the non-religious help make it work?

13th June 2017 - “A Bluffer’s Introduction to Quantum Mechanics”. Sorry - it’s physics again - David will keep it light and hopefully we can have some fun discussing this. Peter seemed quite keen and suggested that we explore quantum mechanics and determinism. Two reprints from New Scientist have been circulated.
9th May 2017 - Sophie, one of Bob Keats' daughters who read her own version of a physicists eulogy that she personalised for Bob at his funeral last Saturday has agreed to come along and read it to us at the May meeting. Bob's funeral was a really fantastic tribute to the man.
