Isle of Wight Humanists (U.K.)
[email protected] We're thrilled to announce the exciting re-boot of our activities on the Isle of Wight as of 28th June 2025, kicking off with the appointment of a new Coordinator for the Isle of Wight Humanists. This marks a significant step forward in re-establishing a vibrant and active humanist community on the island, and we're pleased to be building a stronger local presence to support and connect humanists in the area. Our first meeting was a coffee morning in Ryde on Saturday 28 June at Monkton Arts. Humanistss UK are delighted to inform you that we finally have a new coordinator! Her name is Emma Wilkins who has been fully on-boarded and she is based in Ryde. She is connected to the Monkton Arts Café and it looks a perfect place to begin our socials and meetings. Her initial aim is to hold a few socials in various places across the island in order to help find enthusiastic steering group members to join her. _______________________________ Emails sent to the contact page on this site will still be forwarded and (probably) answered. We aim to provide support and encouragement for developing goodness without god within a broad social context. See about humanism. We meet in Newport, IW, (or on Zoom) most second Tuesdays in the month at 7.00 pm. In August and December we have a social event in a member's home in place of a formal meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend our meetings. We have a talk or discuss topics of local, national and philosophical interest. Our meetings are advertised in the County Press on the Friday before the meeting is held. Most of our members belong to
Humanists UK of which as a club we are a branch; also, as a club, we take an interest in National Secular Society. |
