April 2023 meeting, Tuesday 11th, 7.00 pm, a social gathering in the Bargeman’s Rest, Newport, IW, for a drink and a chat.
It was decided that Peter will do his talk on 9th May at the Riverside Centre and that there will be a meeting in (probably) Simon's home in June.
Our March 2023 meeting was a ‘Community Planning Meeting’ at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 14th March. The venue was the Riverside Centre, Newport and was open to all. We were seeking ideas and committee volunteers for our Isle of Wight Branch.
In the year ahead, we'd like to provide you with a wider range of events, community activities, links to humanist services such as celebrants and school speakers, and the opportunity to support campaigns on the issues you care about. But to do this we need your input, ideas, and support. Whether you’ve previously been involved with the branch or not, you are most welcome at this friendly and informal conversation. Our February Meeting 2023 was a themed discussion on the topic of ‘God and money’. This was hosted at a member’s house.

In 1940 Bertrand Russell was condemned by an American court as ‘morally unfit to teach philosophy’. He was subsequently awarded the Order of Merit by George VI and the Nobel Prize for Literature.
