In September 2015 Andrew explained how humanism involves five overlapping concepts - three are assumptions founded in our experiences of reality and two are intuitive moral fundamentals:

Universe - there is only one reality that observation has ever permitted
Individual  - we have only the life we experience - only one life and that's it
Morality - comes from within us - not something imposed by others
Welfare - should be for all and not for specific groups decided arbitrarily
Meaning - we create it ourselves rather than find it imposed by someone else

In "Humanism" these five areas come together.
